With it being a lateral move, he could take the best players with him

Well, ETSU is a dysfunctional environment for sure, and Lamb has had to endure one worse here, so he’ll do well.
Our administration is an absolute joke. Gary, if you still read this board, get the ball rolling to send Downs down the road. He’s a worse scar on GW than Chris White ever was at this point.

Interesting move for Lamb. Any idea who would take over this job? Mike Jacobs would be a great hire I believe

what a damn shame. We will see what the deal looks like financially but if we cant afford to pay a football coach 225k we cant afford to be in D1 football.

This had to be 100% on GWU admin and him feeling support, because on paper this makes no sense at all. He is leaving a back to back conference championship and playoff team, for a rebuild.
One would think he would stay at GWU with the opportunity to add championships and playoffs to his resume, which would only make him more appealing at the next level, but he is willing to roll the dice, and possibly set his momentum back.
I think GWU not attempting to host was his last straw.

If Lamb left because of perceived lack of support from admin, then I don't fault him. I'm just not sure ETSU is gonna be that much better for him. That place is a garbage heap right now...and similarly very questionable admin support going forward.
"Good (better) things come to those who wait"... but hey, I wish him the best.

Yes, everyone is very surprised by this decision, my and 94's previous posts on this thread are there as proof. There has to be something we aren't taking into account. Agree with you guys, he wanted OUT, and quickly! This indicates to me that he wants to follow the HC path, even if it means a longer road than the OC route to financial riches. What we don't know yet is the details of HIS deal at ETSU, GOT to be more than 225 base. GWU is back to square one imo. 94, you thought Simmons left us bare, let's see what is left here... But grateful for the ride Coach Lamb!

My notes for Why ETSU #1 Stable Conference #2 Stadium and leadership #3 Compete for national championships Quote "I think we can compete for national championships and I don't think I could have done that at my current job. There resources are much better, they care about football, and the community gets behind the program"

So Downs is a bold faced liar running things on the cheap and pisses off the local community.
Shocking isn’t it?
