I think it is to bad that this didn't happen before now. I know that if this happened two years ago a lot of the other players would have been a lot happier. Plus we just lost a very great player Patrick Hall. He would have had a better year I think if the new coach was already here at G-Webb.

If and buts gwebb girl, G-W is not in the business of firing coaches, look how long it took for the admin to can Scruggs, and after bad records and NCAA probation for petes sake.
Let's hope Dickerson turns into a keeper! I wish I could have made it over there this morning, but work interfered.

I just watched a brief excerpt of the press conference announcing Coach Dickerson as head coach. I am very excited about his strong faith and he looks at his job as working with his family to build a great program! His energy level is going to be off the charts! Great hire Dr. Bonner and Mr. Burch!

Was there today too and got to meet Coach Dickerson prior to the Press Conference. His pedigree is rock solid along with his values and focus on family. I believe he will turn the G-Dubb program around, initially in many ways off the field and in time, hopefully not too much time, on the field. I hear that we may have a dedicated strength and conditioning coach focused on football only and the same for an equipment manager. The latter was a task that was being fulfilled by an assistant coach.
I understand that a mandatory team meeting was held today at 4:00 pm with the players. When it concludes, all of the members should come away impressed and also understand that there is a new sheriff in town. There will be many changes that they must come to accept and that they will come to realize help them become a better person and football player.
I understand that Coach Dickerson will be meeting with all the current assistants tomorrow to gain insight into our current strengths and weaknesses roster wise and then to consider whether one or more of our current assistants have what Coach Dickerson is looking for in those position coach slots. I wish our current assistants the best of luck in their upcoming interview opportunities with our new HC. All are good men and have helped guide our young men over the past season(s).
I have been apprehensive due to the drawn out process of seeking and hiring our new coach. After attending today's event and hearing more about and from Coach Dickerson, I am optimistic that better days are ahead for our Running Bulldogs football program.

Just checking in. Followed the link. Had to adjust the username though, no biggie. Great job getting a GWU board/forum!!
Impressed with what I have read and seen in regards to Coach Dickerson so far. Did any of you guys head to the football center for the announcement?

I covered the event today and if his resume was not impressive enough, after speaking with him I am completely confident in Coach Dickerson's ability to turn the program around first off the field, which will translate to wins.

He isn't going to take crap off of anyone. If some current players don't like it, they can leave, and I'm sure they will. Something tells me Mrs. Dickerson isn't going to play designated driver for them like Mrs. Patton did.

After seeing and hearing all that Coach Dickerson had to say, I can not wait for my son to, not only to play for him, but mentored by him to stay on the path that he should take. I heard a saying one time that "Winning is a habit", I say let's get hooked on it, in the locker room, on the practice field, in the class room, in their dorms and apartments. If it only took one person to win a game our boys would play tennis, not football. They better be ready for the changes that are coming, there is another old saying that you have to break'em down to build them up. (I guess I'm old) And I think that's going to be the case. If it is then we must encourgage our boys to pick up what Coach D and his staff are putting down (wow, I guess I'm not that old yet). GOOO you Running Bulldogs!!!!
