So how does it look going into today's game? Are we just too beat-up this year? Will it be a shootout? What do the rest of you expect to see?

I'd love to see that. Although I know we've been bitten by the injury bug, it seems we aren't getting quite enough respect within or outside of the conference.

I hate it for the program and this year's group of seniors but just like last season's debacle laying an egg at VMI, today's effort is worse because it came against a far superior team who won every single phase of the game and made the Dawgs pay dearly for each mistake. The guys need to pick themselves up and dust themselves off. There are no lesser opponents in this league anymore and the schedule does us no favors with 3 of 5 conference games on the road and our two home conference games against highly rated Coastal and a much improved and surprising PC. The injury bug has been harsh this season but there has been something missing and I can't put my finger on it. Our road woes continue, something has to change on the road for the Dawgs to contend in the league. After a day like today there is hopefully only one way to go and that is improve.

I'm not surprised that we lost, but the total lack of offensive production becomes an obvious concern... 56 total yards gained in 55 plays is the least we've racked up since moving to D1 14 years ago.
Watched most of the CSU-Coastal game on the American Sports Network. We're gonna have our hands full next Sat. Coastal's line play on both sides of the ball is very, very good. Our O-line play has got to improve quickly if we're going to make it a contest IMO. CSU is a good football team also, they did some solid things out there today. Going 3-2 in Big South play would be a great achievement as things stand tonight.

Did we even have a game plan today? It sure as heck didn't look like it. Burn the film and move on.

Well that was embarrassing. I swear - it sometimes looks like we have no game plan, no ability to prepare a team to travel, no answer to adjustments they make, and the inability to make adjustments of our own. This one is on the staff, not the kids. Not hopeful that we will win again this year.

On the staff, on the kids; whatever you want to say, we just aren't in the same league as LU.

Injury bug has definitely caught up with this team, couple the lack of depth and playing so many young players, it is obvious that they will have trouble to compete. More importantly is the lack of resources compare to the elite 1AA program . The most import aspect in player development at a high level is nutrition and the level of care to the injured, an area where GW compares to that of a JUCO. It was evident they were uninspired vs Liberty, they did not show any emotions or fight, they had a defeated look to them. It looks like a team wearing down as the season prolongs and a team just playing out the schedule. Rumbling with in the team on how the coaching staff has a negative approach on trying to get to the players is wearing thin. the constant threat of taking away their scholarship or game time is wearing thin within the locker room, It will be interesting to see if Coach McCray could get these young men to elevate their play through the conference schedule.
