2015 GARDNER-WEBB FOOTBALL SCHEDULE Sept. 5 – at South Alabama Sept. 12 – ELON Sept. 19 – at Wofford Sept. 26 – BREVARD Oct. 10 – LIBERTY * Oct. 17 – at Kennesaw State * Oct. 24 – CHARLESTON SOUTHERN * Oct. 31 – at Presbyterian * Nov. 7 – at Coastal Carolina * Nov. 14 – ETSU Nov. 21 – MONMOUTH *
I like this slate, mainly since there is only one non D-1 cupcake in Brevard, although ETSU will be in their first year bringing football back.

It seems like a nice, balanced slate; we were playing Brevard when my son was being recruited, and that regional type non D-1 opponent makes so much more sense than Point, Warner, etc. I'd like to see us commit to Maxwell 100% and install a triple option type offense, tho we may not have the O-Line to make that work. Just a thought.

Surprising, refreshing and unusual for GWebb to already have locked down their schedule so early. Congrats to the athletic department. One can see how GWebb can look to Western Carolina, UT Chattanooga, NC A&T, James Madison and William & Mary as potential future opponents. We have recently played Richmond, ODU and now Elon from the CAA, Furman, Citadel, Wofford, Samford and now East Tennessee from the SOCON and one could look further into the Sunbelt with possibly App. State.

We know the Elon is a home/home, is ETSU the same? Also, this is the last game in the four game Wofford contract. Which SOCON school will we have a home/home with next. Wofford is great, we haven't played WCU in awhile, as well as Chatty.

Looking at Gwusports, at the bottom of the football page, it looks like the Wofford game is scheduled for September 26. We are/were slates to go to Idaho on the 19th. I suppose it is all still fluid.

Heck, Wofford or GW could win at Idaho. I don't know how that football program can survive in the Sun Belt with all the travel. Us moving the Brevard game to 9/19 shouldn't be that big of a deal, one would think.

Idaho University really had no choice along with New Mexico St. University to join the Sunbelt Conference after the WAC Conference stopped playing football. What doesn't make sense to me though was why the Mountain West Conference would not take these teams in, it seems geographically logical for them to do so given the teams playing out west in that conference and the fact that they do have to travel so far to play the teams they have to play in the Sunbelt Conference! Idaho University I believe was having money problems in their athletics department at one time or so I might I have saw maybe!
