No doubt we'll throw Miller against Marks, the BSC pitcher of the year. They also have the league leader in saves in Davis. A tough challenge. They won the three game series in Spartanburg earlier, but in the game we won, both Miller and Marks got roughed up and neither had the decision.
It is so key to win the opener and stay in the winners bracket as long as possible. We win tomorrow, the odds of playing Saturday increase tremendously. Lose and we have to win twice on Friday to get to Saturday.
We finished third in conference this season, the highest regular season conference finish since the program moved to D1. We were the conference tourney runner-up in 2011 which is our best tourney finish since the move. What Chester has done already, even with the lost season due to Wuhan, is frankly amazing, completely taking the program on a 180 degree turn for the better.
In the other game, the Calvinists take on the 1 seed Camels. PC did take 2 of 3 from them in Clinton in late April, so they shouldn't be lacking for confidence.

Thanks, gwebb1994, for the history and perspective. Have to agree that, whatever the outcome of the tournament, Chester has gotten off to a promising start in his GW career.

Excellent win 11-4. Shelled pitcher of the year Marks, Miller went 8 and saved our bullpen for tomorrow (and Saturday).
Now the 4 seed Calvinists at 3 pm tomorrow. Campbell or Upstate is going to go two and cue tomorrow morning. Unreal.

Who decided to put this in Fayetnam? What a terrible place to host a conference tournament. Closest Big South school is 45 minutes. The other three are three hours away. All big south conference tournaments should be held in a combination of Spartanburg, Greenville, Charlotte and Asheville. No reason to leave the geographical footprint.

If North Carolina has an armpit, it is Fayetteville. Frankly inexcusable to host the tournament there. Kallander would claim that Charlotte is out due to the ACC having the Knights ballpark this week. Dumb Kyle of course completely ignoring that two brand new stadiums have opened in Kannapolis and Gastonia that could easily host. Even minor league parks in Hickory and Asheville make more sense. In fact, the new park in Gastonia was going to host a regional until Charlotte crapped themselves in the CUSA tournament. If the D2 SAC can host their tournament in the AA ballpark in Kodak, TN, the Big South can easily do better. Yet more proof we should have bolted. Kallander is an idiot.
