I don't think we should overlook the possibility of a win at UT Martin. They were hit nearly as hard as we were by the transfer portal. And we've done fairly well so far in getting in replacement talent. Not saying we will win that game, or the one against SEMO, but neither is a certain loss. Unless Sam Herder/still not committed is missing a ton UTM lost 5 players to Portal It's more about Who was lost rather than How Many (which Herder says was 6 for them and, what, something like 21 for us?). Four of their most talented folks left for the FBS. Granted, we lost two to FBS, and several other starters to the FCS--but when the news is as bad as it was for us after Lamb left, you'll take whatever silver lining you can find. UT Martin's losses at key positions gives us, for now, a little hope ...

I honestly think WIU will win the auto they are out of playing 4-5 playoff teams a year but that just makes them more prepared more to playing better teams. EIU returns a lot from a 8-3 team who missed the playoffs if it was Montana with that schedule they would have been hosting a first round game. (See 2022)

A note, GW, in its football history, has only won 9 games or more in only three seasons, the last being 2002.
I want some of what you 9 win predicting crowd are drinking and/or smoking. If this new coach breaks .500 next season it will be a feat worthy of conference COY consideration.

Some longtime contributors to this site seem, due to seismic changes, only to know the color of the uniform and the field as the only constant, and are not familiar with the coaches and players, which are in-process. Therefore, their credibility is suspect, including some off-the-wall predictions (as well as imprudent comments) made on this site are later proven to be way off. On the other hand, some do have knowledge of the coaches and some of the players and are bound to be more accurate. Watch and learn!

I do not mean this despairingly but you should create an account, as well as the others who post under guest nicknames, the talk on this site the last few weeks has been the best its been in years. Theres more than the 5-6 guys who post regularly who care about GWU sports it would be nice for this site to show that more often.

Not sure of names until the 2024 roster is updated online, but hearing GW has close to 30 midyear enrollments for football this semester. Several FBS and FCS starter level transfers. I know one, the RB from Temple, was an all conference pick in 2022. That’s excellent and quick work by a new staff. Kudos.
Coach Lamb left it better than he found it and should be thanked also. More attractive than it was in 2019 for sure. Can’t wait for August.
More manageable schedule in 2024 too. Let’s go!

I will consider it I am an ETSU fan who had sources it was Tre or bust in October when he started following us on Twitter. He was my college QB at TTU before I got another degree at etsu

Some of y'all really should adjust with the times. This staff has done a great job recruiting as for as I can tell. As someone who was in the program with McCray and Lamb, Lamb turned the program around and made it a place that can win. He done this by being relatable to the players, creating a culture, and believing that we were going to win from top to bottom. I think that this was the reason that the program had success. I am so excited about the future of this program. I'm calling a 9-3 season with losses to JMU, Charlotte, and Maybe UT Martin.

Anyone heard anything about the 12th game on 9/21 or 10/12?
Plenty of other FCS teams are in the same boat. For example, SC State has both of those dates as open on their schedule right now. No reason to think we need to settle for a D2 or lower opponent to fill out the slate. An extra home game would be nice as well.

Don't forget the FCS showdown the national FCS opener hasn't been announced yet either so a game could be on the week of 8/24 on national TV
