::)Unk: Doesn't seem like you will get many comments to your thread since there are some that want "talk down" to others and say they are showing "pessimium" when in fact, they are just aswering the question. Most people don't want to get confrontationa, therefore, don't post. GardDawg: Thank you for sticking up for OldSchool...he was just voicing his opinion, which I felt was "objective". How does Elcid know if he attends games or not? There is radio, videostream, etc. Elcid: Let's put the past behind us and look toward the future. The same coaching staff you are calling "dysfunctional" is the same coaching staff that gave your son an "opportunity" to play college football and, as I recall, played on both sides of the ball last year and in some games never came off the field. Shame on you for calling out specific Coaches/players names and in the previous post when you just said that shouldn't happen. We all realize coaching changes were needed, and I am sure these were the same coaches you probably praised at one time only now to keep "throwing them under the bus! Have a little more class. Please stop telling people to get on "Your" band wagon. We all want success for the Running Bulldogs. We all know changes were needed and are coming. I personally feel it will be a "rebuilding" year. We will win some games and will loose some games. We will not be undefeated and win a national championship. If that should happen, I think Coach Dickerson might be moving again, onward and upward.

Helmethead, I apologize if you found my posts on this subject offensive. I took offense at Oldschool's remarks and I was simply curious as to whether he had attended any of our games. He didn't answer so we don't know. I agree with you that my use of the term dysfunctional was inappropriate. I was trying to make the point that we have an opportunity for a fresh start with our new coaching staff and I went somewhat overboard. That was unfair to Coach Patton and the gang. I do stand by my comment that Coach Pizzo should have given up on the out pattern pass that seemed to get intercepted every time we threw it. It wasn't the QB's fault, he was just throwing the pass he was told to throw. Go Runnin' Bulldogs!

Ok guys!! Didn't want to start a war here. I don't care if you watch or don't watch. You still get an opinion. Yes, I believe if you don't watch your opinion could miss something but it still counts. This thread is to talk football. I also want to say this. Last year, I spent alot of time disagreeing with the coaching staff. Unfortunately, I got to spend time with coach Patton in the intensive care unit as my brother lay dieing. We talked at length. This was the day he was suppose to be leaving at 11:30 to go to New York to play. At 10:00 he was at the hospital in Greenwood SC. He laughed when I told him I sure did disagree with some of his decisions and said it comes with the price of a ticket. When he got ready to go, I shook his hand and told him this. I don't agree with everything you have done on the field coach, but thank you for showing my nephew what a Godly coach and man is like off the field. That was a good man and knew what was important in life. So, lets leave Patton where he is at, a real good, classy man and lets move forward. Also, we can disagree as brothers but lets remember we are the bulldog family!! Lets talk x's and o's. Besides, there is a reason we didn't get offered the job to coach!!!

Unk96 - How are things down in Ninety-Six? Hope that all your family is doing well and remember that life is renewed each and every spring. I'm as optimistic as any Dad of a Running Bulldog could be and expect G-Dubb to be competitive in every game that we play. How that translates in terms of wins and losses only time will tell. I am certain that we'll be better conditioned, more disciplined and more cohesive as a team. When we're in the game in the 4th quarter I expect that those improvements will enhance our chances of getting the win. Absent the Liberty and Stony Brook games towards the end of the season where we were a physically beaten up team, we were close or leading in the 4th quarter of every other game.
I do wholeheartedly agree with ElCid on one of his comments, throwing the deep out last year was not a good play. It's not a negative towards any of our players but in combination when you don't have a quick release from the QB spot and less than a howitzer for an arm combined with a lack of sub 4.4 speed at the wide out to run the DB off the pattern, then pick 6's are a good bet to occur and they did costing G-Dubb potential wins against WCU and CCU. The Western, Coastal, Stony Brook and maybe even the Liberty games come to mind. The CCU pick 6 ignited the Chanticleers towards a season ending run that culminated with a conference championship and the conferences first FCS playoff bid. G-Dubb had CCU on the ropes with the momentum, wind and a lead in the 4th until the deep out was thrown and returned for a TD, the rest is history.

I agree with the out. Lets face it,we suffered bad when it came to the second half and making adjustments. We just kept doing the same things. It doesnt take a good defense long before they know it before you throw it!! (Hey, that rhymed) Any,Ninety Six is good and ready for football!! Go bulldogs!!
