Pre-season ACC Poll (Pinehurst NC, July 2011) Atlantic Division Pre-season Ranking : 1. Florida State (65 - 1st place votes) : 420 total votes 2. Clemson (4 - 1st place) 286 total votes 3. NC State 270 total votes 4. Boston College (2 - 1st place votes) 224 total votes 5. Maryland 211 total votes 6. Wake Forest 80 total votes ******************* Shock the Deacs ! You could make a valid argument that the road game at Ohio U. will be tougher. In the final Sagarin rankings last year, Wake finished 102, Ohio U. 104. Here is the MAC preseason poll from their media day: The complete poll follows: Team (First Place Votes) -- Points MAC East Division 1. Miami (4) -- 97 2. Ohio (8)-- 96 3. Temple (4) -- 88 4. Kent State -- 57 5. Bowling Green -- 48 6. Buffalo -- 37 7. Akron -- 25 MAC West Division 1. Toledo (8) -- 83 2. Northern Illinois (5) -- 81 3. Western Michigan (2) -- 76 4. Central Michigan (1) -- 55 5. Ball State -- 27 6. Eastern Michigan -- 24 2011 Marathon MAC Championship Game Winner: Toledo 5, Northern Illinois 3, Miami 3, Ohio 1, Western Michigan 1 (several voters did not select a winner for the MAC Championship) 94, I agreed with your post when you made it and I fully expected Ohio to have a much tougher team than Wake Forest. I think those of us who were there would all agree that this was not last year's Wake Forest. This was a much better team than Ohio. They completely shut down the run game and forced us to rely on the pass game to stay on the field. WR Tre Perry had a nice game, but we need to find a couple of more WRs to take on some of that pressure. Wake called off the dogs early or this game really could have been ugly. Now, the week off will give us a chance to regroup, expand the playbook a little, get some players really healthy and then start getting ready to play the real football season. Go Runnin' Bulldogs!

well, I see no one is saying much about Saturday. Well, I finally got to watch the game on replay wth ESPN3. Yes we lost, and that is not what we wanted. However, if you really watch the game, there were so many things that just an inch diffrent and the game would have been diffrent. We have played 2 really good teams and two teams across the board and with depth better than us. But , if you watch that game, you will see that it is starting to come together. Pass coverage that was just a fraction to slow. Linebackers just a hair to slow or they would have made the tackle. Running plays that the linemen could have held just a second more and they would have been broke. Chandler just a smidge too late or long. It was not the ,what do we do, confusion that we saw at Brevard. It is coming to gether, and the rest of the teams we play wont be that half second faster across the board or 40 lbs heavier. There is alot of good that was in that ballgame. Keep your heads up and keep working and we could see some great things coming. Lets go Bulldogs!!!!

We are catching Samford at a good time between road games to Furman and Wofford. It will be a real good gauge IMHO on how the season will pan out.

The biggest difference I saw was speed. I don't see Wake finishing at the bottom of the ACC either.

Next weekend will tell alot. I believe our guys understand what the goal is and have thier focus on the prize. Hopefully we can put it all together starting with Liberty!! I will say this. Its nice to see our team play hard to the buzzer no matter what the score. Still a couple things we need to fix on special teams though!!
