Mason Miller, sidelined by (a non-arm-related) injury until a few days ago, made his season debut, pitching a couple of innings for the Lansing Lugnuts (High-A). He took the loss after surrendering a homer to the first batter (the Lugnuts never led), but he pitched well, striking out four in his two frames and hitting triple digits with his fastball multiple times.

Miller got a quick promotion to AAA Las Vegas after starting at AA after spring training. Made his AAA debut Friday night, got a rare win for Vegas, 5 innings of shutout ball and 11 Ks.
The way the A’s are playing, another game or two like that I would expect him to get the call to the show.

Breaking: Miller being called to the Show, could be starting as early as Wednesday afternoon against the Cubs.

81 pitches, 51 strikes. 15 pitches reached at least 100 mph, averaged 99.3 mph on 53 fastballs. Retired 9 of the first 10 before giving up single runs in the 4th then the 5th when pulled, obvious they had him on a pitch count. At least Oakland rallied to tie the game at 2 and get him off the hook before collapsing and losing 12-2.

Miller tonight against Seattle threw no hit ball through 7 innings, then got pulled after hitting 100 pitches. Reliever came into game in 8th and immediately gave up first hit on a dinger that tied the game. A no decision.
What a joke of a franchise. Hopefully Miller’s agent can get him out of Oakland/Vegas.
