I think this is a great idea. As an alumni, it will give me a chance to workout without having to pay hefty membership prices somewhere else and I'd much rather the money go to GWU than some corporation. But that's just my 2 cents

I'm with Jake on this one, though I can see gwebb1994's point. If I were local, I'd make GW my new gym. Might be a way to get the local public to engage more with the school, too.
Now, if the gym is overrun and students have trouble getting their workouts in, I'd say that the school should scale back, opening the gym to alums and students (and staff and faculty) only.
