I know the Calvinists are always predestined to lose, but even though it's early January, this is a must win for GW. With UNCA and LW looming, a loss here and we are staring at a 2-5 conference start. PC is 5-12, 1-3 in league play, but which Hose will we get, the one that beat Campbell by 10 or the one that lost to Radford by 18?
We've done a bit better lately protecting and valuing the basketball, but our guard play overall and especially our outside shooting remains lacking. Let's grind out a road W here, get back to .500 in league play and welcome the other set of Bulldogs to town Saturday afternoon.
GW women have a golden opportunity to start 5-0 in conference play. The Lady Hose are formidable, 7=8 overall, but 3-1 in league play and on a three game win streak.

Came off the deck and won in OT 79-78.
Shot 50% from the field and three point land. Nicholas 20, Soumaoro 18, including two clutch threes in OT.
Big game with UNCA Saturday. We need to take advantage of their quick turnaround after playing Thursday night against Longwood.
Women won 90-86, now 5-0 in conference play, had a 17 point lead with 3:20 left and held on, Williams with a triple double.

We hung around in this game, keeping it close, then managed to pull out the road win. Nice to see a little late life on offense.
The women--what can you say? Awfully proud of them.
