at Akron, Thursday December 21.
We’ve played MAC opponents twice in history, Akron in 2016 and Eastern Michigan in 2006. I like it, good exposure against a good mid major conference.

Colgate is officially the 4th team. A solid pickup, they’ve been in the NCAA tournament the last three seasons.

I am new to the board but have been following for a while. What are everyone's expectations for next season?

Not as high as past years, but the one good thing we got going for us is we didn’t lose but only two players to the portal. All other schools in the Big South lost much more.
Getting some bigs to compliment Badmus at the 4 and 5 was huge, losing Reid and Dufeal together stung a bit.
Right now I’d assume UNCA will be the favorite to repeat followed by RU at 2. The tournaments are apparently moving back to campus sites, which is unfortunate because it seemed the conference was getting good traction in Charlotte each year with the media exposure, etc.

I am new to the board but have been following for a while. What are everyone's expectations for next season? If we don't find some shooting (and it's very late for that), I'm afraid we're in trouble. Craft is going to have us playing some very non - aesthetically pleasing basketball I'm afraid.

I am seeing all of these ACC/SEC Challenge games being announced. Why couldn't we do this at the mid major level? How would a Big South/SoCon Challenge go or Big South/OVC Challenge, since we have the football association?

Have there been any scheduling updates or developments?

Quiet though some other teams are filling spots. I’d expect more news in these next couple of weeks. My guess is we have around 9 non conference spots left to fill. Assuming Craft dines on the traditional two non D1 cupcakes the conference allows, that leaves 7, maybe 8 spots to fill.

Who are the normal non D1 cupcakes? Why don't we play any good non D1 teams?

22-23: Carolina U, Bob Jones 21-22: Carver, Converse, Columbia International 20-21: Covid, none 19-20: Coker, Bob Jones 18-19: Bob Jones, Johnson & Wales
Coker and Converse actual D2 schools. Why can’t we schedule just regional D2 teams instead of squads not even in the NCAA? Look at the SAC and Conference Carolinas. Both mega conferences now with huge 18+ game conference schedules. They don’t have the spots to play more often then not.
I’d rather see us play an extra money game in the region for $70K+ than play non NCAA schools that are nothing but stat padding games and serve zero purpose. Scrimmages in practices are a thousand times more challenging.

The non NCAA games serve as confidence boosters. After playing major schools it can get demoralizing if you're getting beat down. The non NCAA games flip the tables so to speak and help remind the players that they're D1 for a reason.
