Current Standings:
SCHOOL BIG SOUTH PCT. OVERALL PCT.
High Point 11-2 .846 22-6 .786
UNC Asheville 11-2 .846 19-9 .679
Gardner-Webb 8-4 .667 13-14 .481
Winthrop 7-5 .583 16-11 .593
Longwood 4-8 .333 16-11 .593
CSU 4-8 .333 8-17 .320
Presbyterian 4-9 .308 12-16 .429
USC Upstate 4-9 .308 9-17 .346
Radford 3-9 .250 13-14 .481
A clear break between 4th and 5th at this point, three games. UNCA and HPU only have three left each, same for Upstate and PC. Looking at that bottom five, I think it's pretty clear the team we would want to avoid the most in round one is Longwood, who (along with RU) play both HPU and UNCA in their last four and might have a say in who the regular season champ will be. They've got talent, and just haven't lived up to billing this season. IMHO, staying in the three seed spot and getting CSU or PC seems like the best option. I don't see HPU or UNCA crapping out completely in their last three where we could catch either even if we win out. WU has three of their last four at home. That finale against us could be big, but even if they beat us and we finished tied with them, since we split, I believe our win here against UNCA would break any tie unless they somehow win at HPU. Unless the BSC has another stupid tiebreaker of some sort we don't know about yet.
Remaining Games (including byes):
HPU: bye, at CSU, WU, at LW
UNCA: at LW, GW, bye, at RU
GW: RU, at UNCA, LW, at WU
WU: PC, UPS, at HPU, GW
LW: UNCA, at RU, at GW, HPU
CSU: at UPS, HPU, RU, at PC
PC: at WU, bye, at UPS, CSU
UPS: CSU, at WU, PC, bye
