There is one thing the GW faithful fail to realize is that the program is still a weak D1A program that has a long way to go.Missed the boat on good recruiting in one of the top talent years in NC. Great coaching move but he will be saddled by missing out on good recruits.Scheduling top D1a programs for the next couple of years only guarantees more losing seasons.Ask WC about D2 Tusculum hanging 50 on them last year.I know where the program wants to go but it has a long way to go.Be realistic who GW can play with. Don't go the way of WC recruiting mostly out of towners that can't win. No offense Oldschool, but we don't need to be playing any D-II programs period. We prove nothing by beating Brevard and Mars Hill. And, we don't get any better either. Go Runnin' Bulldogs!

Agree Elcid if we want to play at higher level we have to play teams that are on a higher level. Playing D-II teams will not challenge our players to play at a higher level. As mentioned earlier would love to see a home and home with Wofford or Furman.

If we have to play a D-2, then why not grow a pair and play some ranked D-2 teams like Carson-Newman, North Alabama, Valdosta State, etc.
Still, with the CAA, SOCON, MEAC, and even OVC nearby geographically, it is really inexcusable to schedule more than one D-2 or below per season.

Why not schedule SC STATE as a battle of the bulldogs? They travel very well and the band is awesome at halftime. It would be a lot better than the halftime shows in Boiling Springs.

We can also play the Citadel bulldogs! I'd love to do that and have suggested that on their message board. They think playing a Big South team at our venue is beneath them. Oh well. Go Runnin' Bulldogs!

Beneath them? Didn't they just bring VMI back on their schedule with a home/home?
Furman, Appy, WCU, Wofford and Chatty have all played in Boiling Springs. Sounds more like a cover for fear than anything else.
Did Tennessee Tech ever reschedule the second game of the home/home we had with them, or did both parties agree to tear up the contract?

Looks like from what I've read on some Wake Forest boards that our game with them will likely be Sept. 17.
9/3 BREVARD 9/10 at Ohio U. 9/17 at Wake Forest 9/24 10/1 at Samford 10/8 LIBERTY* 10/15 10/22 at Coastal Carolina* 10/29 CHARLESTON SOUTHERN* (Homecoming) 11/5 at Presbyterian* 11/12 STONY BROOK* 11/19 at VMI*
So the only mystery left is who is the 11th game against and is it on 9/24 or 10/15.

Presbyterian's schedule has been released, and you guys are playing them on 10/15 instead of 11/05. Using the schedule you've got posted here, this is what I have for you guys so far: Gardner-Webb Unofficial Schedule Really hope you guys don't fill your open date with a D2. We've already got enough schools playing D2's this year (and CSU is playing a D3). If you want to see the rest of the conference's schedule, check out this thread on CoastalFans.
