They posted a release yesterday While hyping all the academic success on the front page of the site, not a mention of the negative, except in the last part of the article. The Burch/Bonner spin machine is at full capacity. It is getting old, fast.

GW was #1 on QB Austin Brown's list last year. Austin is now at CSU (transferred in from UAB). He visited GW last. Met all the assistant coaches and the AD. Felt great about GW football... Then he met with Coach McCray, last. Walked away and called CSU from GW's parking lot.
Would it had made a difference last year (and this year), don't know. But I think its important to know that Coach McCray is not a good recruiter.

McCray inherited a dumpster fire of a program with an AD that still has his head in the sand. The QB from Tennessee we landed is supposed to be the real deal....we'll see. He is a good man cleaning up a mess, and now has another albatross with the academic garbage thanks to the clueless AD.

Would it had made a difference last year (and this year), don't know. But I think its important to know that Coach McCray is not a good recruiter. This may be true on Brown. But GWU is notoriously difficult to get transfers into for academic purposes. Also take into the fact that it had been abused by the previous staff and he must be careful bringing in any transfer. But to say Mccray is not a good recruiter is false and has no basis just because he didn't take Brown. He and his staff have signed more all-state and all-region players in the last two years than has been done in the previous decade here. So before you get on here spewing a stupid opinion how about looking into the fact that of the guys he's recruited have been really good players as freshmen. its not his fault that the upperclassmen he inherited were few and far between. College football is an older mans game. Mccray has had to deal with the defections of over half the class of would've been juniors and seniors that left or were dismissed by Dickerson Jr. I dont think people outside of the know just know how bad it was here before he got here. Like '94 said, complete train wreck both on and off the field. He's a sensational man and recruiter who will get GWU as high as the resources allow.

Looks like some kickoff times are being filled in now, two games at home in September both 6 pm, last three home games at 1:30, LU game not posted yet, might have something to do with television and Homecoming that day. Coastal and PC on the road both at 2.

Hello everyone currently new on the boards so this will be my first post! Love the boards from what I have seen so far so I think I'll like it on here! Had a question though, which is I am thinking about forgoing my tickets to ACC games so I can catch GW play all of its home games this season. I haven't been to any games so was wondering what kind of football experience GW has and if the FCS has good football overall? Tired of big time college football! Too commercialized and too much amateurism and overall tired of the ACC and ready to try something new! Would love some feedback here! Love the boards and look forward to being on here GO DAWGS!

FCS, D-2, and D-3 all play good ball. G-W is a fine place to watch a game in person, and that was the case even long ago before the renovation and move to FCS level took place.

Thanks for the response gwebb1994 I appreciate it very much! I have always felt the same way as well although my friends and family look at me for doing this like I am crazy or something! I visited the campus last spring for the first time in a long time and its a beautiful place. Love the football stadium and its layout! Great facilities at GWU thanks again for feedback appreciate it very much!

coaches still don't know what they are doing on defense. It was a joke last year. It will be this year.
