As hard as it is to believe, with the win vs UNCA, we have started Big South play 2-0 for the first time in program history. If we can upset HPU Saturday, might be a special season

Some freak scheduling with 3 days in 6 days, but if we somehow go 3-0 in the stretch, look out.

Let's not forget as well how the women's tourney seeding works this season. #1 and #2 seeds each host 2 quarterfinals and 1 semifinal.
Game Saturday is huge. Not just to start 3-0, but especially since we play 3 of our last 4 on the road.

big road win for the ladies. Petty home play great down the stretch after Stanford fouled out. I would have her play more minutes but then again I'm not the coach and you can't really argue with a 3 and 1 start

Incredible start indeed. Two very winnable home games coming up with WU and USCU before what looks to be a big trip to Hampton, based on the current standings anyway.

A great start for our new head Coach. I think it should send a loud and clear message that Gardner Webb teams CAN be successful. Yes, smaller roster programs are probably easier to improve quickly in an environment like we're dealing with within the athletic department. Holtmann inherited a complete disaster, took the bull by the horns, and built a true winner in 2 years. With a new President, retired AD, aggressive alumni outreach, and more, maybe just maybe this type of competitive outcome can become the norm across the entire athletic department!

Nice job following up the tough loss to WU beating Upstate 92-72, shooting 48% from the field and from distance. Carley Plentovich with 36, and we actually trailed 26-10 after the 1st. A 36 point swing. Impressive. Huge game at Hampton Saturday night to see if we can creep up a bit in the standings.

We got absolutely robbed at Hampton Saturday night, terrible offensive foul call late in the OT period.

Tough loss at CSU tonight really puts us at a disadvantage for the final bye spot.

Women won on senior night against PC 67-62, guarantees a .500 finish, and likely locks us into the 6 seed for the tourney, hosting a play-in game next Tuesday.

Women closed the season with two wins and got the tiebreaker against Campbell way down the line, ironically by beating the team we play Thursday, UNCA, while Campbell split with them.
#5 seed. Not bad for a first year coach. Playing at Radford in the pod there, RU was a sick 17-1 in conference, and have won 15 in a row coming into the tourney.
