Whoever thought of renting out Spangler for this should be shot, especially when we were scrambling for an 11th game, and one at home.

The small college Lambuth (Tennessee) posted a 9/24/11 football game at GWU on their online sports page on March 15, 2011. This was supposed to be the 11th game for GWU, but the college had major financial problems and went belly up. They closed down at the end of the Spring 2011 semester, so the game went poof. www.lambutheagles.com/article/1371.phpNovember 5, 2011 was the GWU open date from early on, and was offered up to the GWU Music Dept for their fall prestigious BandBeat competitions with the great partner Carolina Crown. BandBeat is a huge deal for GWU, and the GWU Music Dept. Something like 16 high schools came to it last year at Spangler Stadium, some of the best high school bands in the eastern USA. The GWU Marching Bulldogs work with the high schools, and Carolina Crown, helping to expose a significant number of high school student to GWU, GWU Music Dept., and the GWU Marching Band - which raises some funds from this awesome BandBeat event at Spangler Stadium. The Marching Bulldogs are huge supporters of the GWU football team, doing pre-game march, pre-game national anthem, super halftime show, and post-game show. The attendance for the opener Brevard game was only 5,133. With 95 points scored on them so far, the football team surely needs any and all support. The problem this year with the football schedule was caused by the person(s) who scheduled the 9/24/11 game with small, financially dead Lambuth college - which should not have been done. But, as many know, new GWU coach Dickerson's pops was head football coach at Lambuth. The situation was "adjusted" with the Thursday night game for GWU being added to the football schedule. We should know after the Liberty game if we even needed a 11th game this year.

Not throwing off on the band or even the event at all, but it would have been wiser to offer dates we knew for fact that we were on the road instead.
That 6 pm kickoff on that Thursday against Virginia State is still odd, they need to bump that back to 7 if they can.
