About 15 or more of these colleges should move up to FBS level. Who would you select? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NCAA_Division_I_FCS_football_programsI would like to see GWU play some Ivy League colleges. Stony Brook started a four game series with Ivy League college, Brown, in 2008. After dropping Stony Brook, Brown will add Georgetown (Washington DC). Current Ivy League football standings (9/26/11): Yale (CT) 2-0, Harvard (MA) 1-1, Cornell (NY) 1-1, Brown (RI) 1-1, Dartmouth (NH) 1-1, Columbia (NY) 0-2, Pennsylvania (0-2), Princeton (NJ)(0-2) 2010 Ivy League Final Standings : Penn (7-0), Harvard (5-2), Yale (5-2), Brown (5-2), Dartmouth (3-4), Columbia (2-5), Cornell (1-6), Princeton (0-7). Who would you like to see GWU play?

An Ivy opponent would be neat, but those Ivy League teams really book their schedules far out in advance. Seeing G-W take on some CAA teams like Richmond, JMU, William & Mary, etc. would be neat.
On an FBS note, I still would like to see us play at West Point or Annapolis one year, I've always wanted to see a game in person at both places.

94,
I've had the pleasure of watching my Citadel Bulldogs play at all three academies. Navy has the nicest real estate surrounding their campus. West Point has the nicest architecture. Air Force has 2 gold courses on campus and we played them for Homecoming. For Homecoming, the Air Force has an alumni fly one of each airplanes in the Air Force active inventory over the stadium before kickoff. Quite a show.
Go Runnin' Bulldogs!

I'd rather schedule non-scholly Pioneer teams than D-2 or NAIA foes for sure.

This type GWU football schedule may help GWU while rebuilding the football program, and get more fan approval: Week 1 : Weak FCS team Week 2 : Weak FCS team Week 3 : Middle ranked FCS team Week 4 : Weak FBS team with $$$ to spend. Week 5 : Weak FCS team Week 6 : Liberty Week 7 : Presbyterian (usual Homecoming option) Week 8 : Coastal Carolina Week 9 : Charleston Southern (usual Homecoming option) Week 10 : Open Date (BandBeat competition/fund raiser at GWU) Week 11 : Stony Brook NY Week 12 : VMI Up the football program corporate and private donations so the team does not have to play a Top 30 FBS team for $$$ until football program is at a steady, higher level.

Only flaw with that theory is you have the SOCON close by, meaning a game with regional interest, and they normally have 3 or 4 teams lurking in or around the Top 25 most of the time. Playing Appy, Wofford, and Furman, even WCU, regularly would be a good thing.
