I'm guessing we've all heard the talk about conference realignment. Keep reading (at AnyGivenSaturday.com) speculation that Campbell or A&T could be (but, as of now, likely will not be) poached by SoCon or CAA. I've been pretty happy about the addition of A&T and Hampton to the Big South. A&T is a quality football program, of course, and both schools are among the top HBCUs.
Anyone hearing other rumors about potential add-ons or losses?
Sort of beside the point: Anyone else as confused as I am by what seems to the perception, at least at AnyGivenSaturday.com, that Campbell would be a good add for the SoCon or CAA while we either don't merit a mention or are summarily dismissed? Maybe it's not that I find it odd that CU would appeal--they're larger and, frankly, have demonstrated greater commitment to athletics (at least as measured by spending)--but that so many of the posts describe CU as a better academic fit for those conferences than other potential adds. (The SoCon folks in particular tend to be touchy about their conference's academic reputation.) Our academic profiles are virtually identical, and GW leads in as many important metrics--e.g., graduation rate, GPA, retention--as it trails. We even share the same USNews ranking. Thoughts?

The door was open for us to seriously consider the SOCON a few years ago and with the pair of Burch and Bonner, it wasn't pursued, which was fatal.
The Big South is a transitional conference and Kallander is a dunce. CU has alot more resources and light years better athletic administration than GW. It won't shock me to see them leap to the SOCON when the opportunity presents itself, while GW won't do squat.
