It would appear we are safe on this one for now. I'll echo '94 in the sentiment that Lamb has a Holtmann vibe: destined for big things and working to leave GWU (later rather than sooner) much better than when he found it. For the record, I'm fine with that. Hate that we haven't used that model more in the past.

Great hires on the assistant front by the way! Johnson is a former stud from GA Southern who was an offensive GA at Texas Tech the last two years. Wilson is a Wofford standout who coached LB's at North Greenville. And it looks like Harrington has worked as Recruiting Director or Assistant Director at Arkansas State and UT Chattanooga. Huge position of need for any program and it looks like she's had a pretty quick climb up the ladder.
Of the many problems with the last coaching staff, one of the big ones I saw was being unable to replace the talent that came in with McCray (namely Randal) after they moved on to bigger things. These second wave hires are huge in determining if this is a flash in the pan or a sustained, vibrant, winning program. My bet would be on the latter at this point, provided we keep Lamb around long enough to see it through. Fingers crossed.

Nice post Notsofast. If we have a sustained, vibrant stretch, it will be with a head coach other than Tre. He's gone after this season, no doubt at all in my mind. The good news is that your point: leave it better than it was. In this case would be hard not to accomplish that!

Lamb wants a head coaching job I think to another FCS or Lower Level FBS school. As that being the case he needs to find success this year and next imo to secure one of those jobs.
