My oldest was at Gardner Webb over the weekend for a prospect camp. Rather than watch my 900th showcase, I walked around campus all day, caught some of the football game, and checked everything out. I was very impressed with Gardner Webb, its friendly students, and the campus. The peaceful atmosphere reminds me of my alma mater, Furman. Seems like the main campus is really experiencing some growth, too. Gardner Webb strikes me as great place to send my kids.
As for the baseball program, y'all have a fantastic coaching staff. Rusty Stroupe is the kind of person you want your son to learn from for 4 years -- about life and baseball. Facilities are top notch. And, judging from the other young men in attendance at the camp, GWU recruits quality young men, not just baseball players. Congrats, really. You have ALOT to be proud of in the baseball program. Good luck in the Big South this year.
