I'm surprised no one has talked about Longwood's inclusion into the Big South starting next year...No one I've spoken to is thrilled about this. Thoughts?

I believe that while they are a solid fit academically, bring a balanced league (possibly split divisions) in most sports, the addition of another non-football league member is a concern. It is no secret that Liberty is looking to move up to FBS and absent a football replacement member, the Big South's automatic bid would go away. There are many changes coming to the athletic landscape in the NCAA. My hope is that things will stay static for G-Dubb Football at least until my Running Bulldog wraps up his playing career in 1 to 2 years as he is currently a RS-So. In time should Liberty, Stony Brook and Coastal move up or move out of the conference, and with similar moves by App State and Ga. Southern in the SOCON likely, the SOCON may be the future home of G-Dubb. Campbell should they decide to go scholly football and High Point and/or Winthrop if they were to add football could help hold the league together as a football conference.
UNCC might be another option as a football only member but I believe they may have designs on something bigger and have or may decide to go the independent route for the near and mid-term.

Longwood is a solid addition outside of the fact they don't play football. Liberty is gone in three years tops. It's a dead horse, but I really hope the G-W brass are looking at a push for SOCON membership whenever Appy and perhaps Georgia Southern move up to FBS level.
