I hate this for my Running Bulldog and his fellow O-lineman. Ledford did a stellar job last season and the run game was a bright spot. There were high hopes that this season's run game would only be better with all O-line starters returning, quality depth and a 2nd season under Ledford's coaching. This is the 4th position coach in my Dawg's time at G-Dubb as he enters his spring semester of his redshirt sophomore year and 5th position coach since his initial recruitment.
It's hard to fault Ledford as App State is a huge step up based on performance over the last decade and with talk of them moving up to 1A status. The facilities there are top notch and so it goes.
I hope for our O-line and the rest of the team, that HC Dickerson can not only find a top notch X and O's guy but one who understands that this O-line group has been put thru the wringer with so many position coach changes. They are a talented group and should be a strength of next year's team.
Coaching changes, especially position coach changes at this level happen frequently but I dare say that the O-line Coach turnover at G-Dubb has been truly unusual.
Martin, Dunaway, Sargent, Harris, Demilio and all the other O-lineman should not hang there heads but pull together and know that it's you guys who can and will make the difference for the 2012 edition of the Running Bulldogs. It's your last season Seniors, git r done.

Can't blame Ledford for taking the position. I just hated this for all the players. Just as you said these young men need to hold their heads high and realize that they are a special group and can depend on each other. Hopefully a replacement will be hired soon and not take as long as last years ordeal.

Hate to see Ledford go, but, it is good to see GWU coaches move up. [While we have been through a plethora of line coaches in recent memory, none have moved up like Ledford has] The spotlight will continue to shine our way and we will be seen as an opportunity to move up. Also shows that Coach D has a keen eye for quality coaches. Should get us some looks from some up and coming coaches which should lead to success at GWU.
Go Runnin' Bulldogs!

Good career move I guess, but you have to wonder about job stability up there with Jerry Moore nearing retirement soon. You would figure a new HC would bring in a new staff?

Former GWU OL coach Will Friend is at Georgia and Dale Williams is at FAU.
