I truly believe in the power of prayer. And I pray hard that Coaching Staff, AD, and University will take the time to investigate travel accommodations and expenses associated with away games. Someone mentioned in a thread on this website when another sport was added to the university that the cost associated with this would be borne by the existing programs. Truly hope that does not happen and these young men are provided adequate sleeping and meal arrangements. Tough to compete at the D1 level on little to no sleep and poor nutrition.

It really should be a non-issue. Baseball plays enough single games during the week on the road nearby that overnight stays aren't needed. Hoops can save money with day trips to conference opponents UNCA, PC, and HPU. No, we can't stay in the Hilton in Charlotte like LU does every time they come to town, but we don't have to settle for staying in some New Delhi-run bedbug nightmare either.

Incredibly on-point post after the motel disaster the baseball team endured last evening in Ga. To the Coaches' credit, they demanded the team be moved to better accomodations for the weekend. Hard to believe a D1 Athletic Dep't could allow this to happen.

OK, as part of the travel compensation that is normal for baseball programs to work out in this type of weekend series, Kennesaw State was to arrange and provide for accomodations for the GW Baseball team and coaches and staff. Our bus gets to the 'motel' around 10pm Thurs. It turns out to be a dump in a not too great area. Live roaches, torn, stained and holy bed sheets, rooms that had no heat, etc. etc. An absolutely indefensible choice on someone's part at KSU to put us up at this sleaze joint. They know where they are booking. Rusty had the team moved the next morning to a nice place, don't know any of the details concerning who at KSU did this, or why our athletic dep't didn't quality check prior.
The baseball team normally stays at very nice places on the road, so this incident is in no way a reflection of the typical quality of our travel arrangements!!!
Lets say we were trusting victims of some scumbags at Kennesaw State U's Athletic Dep't.

With all the choices in the Atlanta metro area, it sounds like KSU was cutting corners. Cheapskates....and we want them as full members of the Big South at some point?

True. On the flip side, they are putting massive sums into their campus infastructure; very impressive things are going on down there. The football program has sold 3500 season tickets already for their return to the gridiron in 2015. This market will be a real boon for the Big South, no doubt about it.
The fact remains that a very questionable, insulting decision was made to put us in that rat trap Thursday evening; any way you slice it, it reflects poorly on Kennesaw State's athletic dep't to say the least.
