In the interest of fairness, and not the supposed threatening legal action mentioned by someone who doesn't even have the balls to register as a user on this site, I deleted the post. Best wishes to Dobson.

Whoa, let's ease up a little there. The arrest is bad, but it's incredibly unfair to associate the current football staff and players with the (hopefully untrue) actions of a man who last played for the GWU football program under Steve Patton in 2008 (you know, when the current freshmen were 11).
And as to the other "proud moment" you refer to, the 923 APR score is terrible and should be embarrassing to those who oversaw Ron Dickerson's coaching tenure at Gardner-Webb (and I use the word "oversaw" extremely loosely); let's be careful not to associate the current coaching staff and young players of a program that has cultivated an on-campus reputation of greatly improved academic standing. The APR score is most reflective of coaching decisions by a man who should never have been placed in a leadership position at GWU, not the student-athletes taking exams and writing term papers. Yes, GWU sports info buried the story, but the article detailing the academic successes of numerous Gardner-Webb teams accurately reflects quality work in the classroom by a large percentage of athletes on campus.
I have no problem with calling out mistakes (misdeeds?) made by a few weak administrators (who also can't be held responsible for the actions of a man seven years removed from his time at the university), as long as innocent or exemplary athletes and coaches are kept out of the crosshairs.

Not a shot at all at McCray and the job he is doing cleaning up the complete pile of Dickerson crap he inherited. It's just frustrating to not be able to catch a break lately in regards to the football program, that's all. I hope he can get the squad this fall to give max effort and not mail it in since they have little to play for. I like the schedule, not seeing an NAIA team on there is refreshing.
As for the weak administrators you refer too, #1 on that list is Burch, who still has 100 percent carte blanche and has no fear of any repercussion towards him despite his complete inability to move an athletic program forward to any sort of legitimate D-1 level status/success in more than a decade and a half at the helm. How many more teams need to get on probation for him to finally be shown the door? That will be the only way he will go, since mediocre results are acceptable with Bonner.

Before you post, next time make sure you allow the legal process to play out. This case is being dismissed as the allegations were fabricated.

Good to hear. Hopefully Dobson can move on with his life. Nothing like a vindictive wormyn to screw things up.

Yes it was fortunate that all things were in his favor. In today's time though, many allegations are addressed and investigated with blind and deaf vigor, even when circumstances and truth dictate otherwise. Jamison Crowder of the Redskins knows this all to well as he dealt with an almost identical situation.
He has requested that this post be deleted and he has had the legal team contact Pro Boards. His situation, unfortunately, is not unique. Many people in general are wrongly arrested, and it greatly affects their future employment, reputation, peace of mind, etc.
If someone knows the admin of this board, please have this post deleted. Thanks in advance for your feedback and understanding. Dobson has always desired to represent the red and black well, and continues to do so.
Now here is the real story that needs to be reported:
COLLINS GIVES BACK May 30, 2015
Last weekend, ex-Gardner Webb All American, NFL and CFL wide receiver Dobson Collins hosted 50 students from local Shelby elementary and middle schools for his inaugural Football and Skills Camp. Collins, who lives in Shelby, NC now, reached out to guidance counselors at seven area elementary and middle schools, and asked for students who loved football and were able to maintain high character, grades, and exhibited great leadership. Shelby district counselors selected 50 young men ages 8-12 for the camp. The camp had been in the mind of Collins for 2 years, and this year he finally put it together. "I have always wanted to give back to Shelby, and the community here. Everyone who plays pro ball always do football camps in the larger cities, but often the smaller communities get left out. This year I wanted to pass some of the knowledge I have been fortunate to learn during my time in the NFL and CFL as pass it onto the kids. In addition, I wanted the opportunity to share what I feel is most important in life: my faith, family, work ethic, perseverance and value system. I want this young men to know that if you put your mind to your goals, and add a dash of perseverance, you can accomplish them on the field and the classroom. Never give up."
More info:
Football Skills Camp - May 23, 2015 Dobson Collins, former GWU All-America receiver and now with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, will hold a fundaments/skills camp at Shelby Middle on Saturday. The camp is free for selected youth in the Shelby area.
Assisting Collins will be former NFL and current CFL cornerback Cord Parks (B.C. Lions), former GWU All-America wideout Kenny Cook and former Shelby High/N.C. A&T player Larry Raper. Snacks and lunch will be provided. T-shirts and trophies will go to each participant.
