Can post some general info on both men’s and women’s squads here. First, one of the best schedules we’ve ever had on the men’s side, including 1 SEC and 3 ACC opponents: gwusports.com/sports/mens-soccer/schedule

Yikes, women lose 9-0 at #25 Clemson and don't even manage one shot on goal.

Even worse we were outshot 58-0. I hate to be negative, but I think it was a mistake to let Varga walk because he wanted more years on his new contract than GW was willing to give. Time will tell though.

I hear he is a good guy and, apparently, a good coach. Congrats to the men's futbol team! I hope it sets the tone for a great year in all sports.

I am going to rain on everybody's parade for a bit. South Carolina is not P5 in soccer as they are members of the Sunbelt. The SEC does not sponsor M soccer

Here's an umbrella for your parade: the Sun Belt is one of the top 3 leagues in men's soccer in the country. So while SBC isn't "P5," the men's soccer league is absolutely elite.

Great result, against JMU, but getting a Red Card for fighting does not reflect a very well our University's Christian mission. Hopefully, the coach will nip it in the bud. totally unacceptable. Say what you will about coach Setzer, but we never had these issues when he was here. As I said, I am hopeful this is an isolated incident but it bears watching

And we never won games while Setzer was here. Two yellow cards equal a red correct? Speaks volumes of the team to play to a draw being a man down for the last 20+ minutes of the game. I like seeing some fight in a squad instead of laying down accepting mediocrity. Who knows what kind of trash was being talked that led up to it? Actually seeing a crowd in the hundreds for a soccer game at GW should be an encouragement.
As far as the "Christian Mission" of the school, that ship has long left port, just look in the President's chair. Matthew 7:16-20 comes to mind.

Sorry, my phone does not have my log in information. I think you are way off on Downs.Great guy. not as conservative as some would like but the fruit is still there. As for Setzer he won plenty of big games vs Ranked teams Furman NC State Clemson ect. That should not be discounted.. As for the red card, we actually had two, that were ejected one for two yellows And the other was a straight red for fighting period I really like the results coach wells is getting but They are not worth it if it tarnishes the reputation of our university

Downs has energy and vision, and I think he's done well so far. I couldn't care less about his faith--except to say that I wish it weren't a topic of conversation. And maybe that I'm relieved he's apparently moderate.
