Not set in stone, but I am putting together our schedule from what is being reported by other teams that we will be playing next year. I will keep editing this post as new schedules are published. 2011Runnin' Bulldogs Football Schedule Sept. 3 - Brevard Sept. 10 - @ Ohio Sept. 17 - @ Wake Forest Sept. 24 - Lambuth Oct. 1 - @ Samford Oct. 8 - Liberty Oct. 15 - @ PC Oct. 22 - @ Coastal Carolina Oct. 29 - Charleston Southern Nov. 5 Nov. 12 - Stony Brook Nov. 19 - @ VMI Non-Conference games: Ohio U, Wake Forest, Brevard [?], Open, Unnamed D-II Opponent Here's hoping our Athletic Department gets the message that we should not be playing 2 D-II games in 2011. If you have any sway with our AD, please let him know that we don't want to see this. Go Runnin' Bulldogs!

VMI is the finale.
The Ohio U. game has been set on Sept. 10 for a couple of years.
We know by default we won't play Wake on 11/5, since the Deacs will be playing Notre Dame that day.
The open date on 10/15 would be ideal at this point.
Don't forget @pc Elcid...we played them in the slot we play CCU in this fall last year. Probably 11/5, I can't see our bye date that late in the year.
If we play Wake in the opener, then Ohio, that means two straight D-2's before Samford?
Remember, Wake hosted PC in their opener last year and moved it to a Thursday night as well...yuck.

Wake, PC and VMI have now announced their football schedules so I have updated the schedule. I think we are only missing one date as things stand now. Hopefully we can get a significant challenge coming to the Spangler four our 5th home game.

Was hoping that bye would be 10/15....now we don't get a break until November? Ouch.

Was hoping that bye would be 10/15....now we don't get a break until November? Ouch. I think we'll be ok 94. We are conditioning at an SEC level now and I think our boys will be much more physically prepared to withstand the demands of the 11 game season. Unless things change, I also expect our game against a 2nd D-II opponent to be something of a bye week. I hate to say that, but I can't help myself. Go Runnin' Bulldogs!

I'd rather sacrifice the fifth home game at this point and play an FCS team on the road than play another D-2 cupcake at home.
IMHO, a non-scholly FCS like Davidson or Campbell would be better than a D-2.

Heard that the contract has not been signed for the missing piece of the puzzle. It is supposed to be a noteworthy game. There is an air of mystery to this one. It will be interesting to find out who. Could be fun In Boiling Springs.

While I understand that our home schedule screams for another home game, it did last your as well when the present home schedule was pretty much a forgone conclusion and OU and Wake were already on the scheldule. What is "interesting" is that Clemson has an open date on November 5, ironically, our second home date and late in the season.

Pardon me for my spelling errors in my last post above, (still working on my second cup of coffee). What I meant was "last year" and "second open date"

Clemson already has 12 games on their docket, including a tilt with Wofford....maybe next year.

Don't have a clue about #11, but I received my Bulldog Club mailing today and it confirms the tentative schedule in my original post.

New upstart program Texas-San Antonio, coached by former Miami Hurricane coach Larry Coker, has only 10 games on their schedule and an open date on November 5. They aren't going to be on FCS level that long before moving up, why not get a home/home with them? They are playing their home games in the large Alamodome. www.goutsa.com/SportSelect.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=13100&SPID=34919&SPSID=601025

Modified the schedule to reflect our 11th game against Lambuth University [NAIA School from Tennessee] on September 24 at Gardner-Webb. While I am certainly against GW playing less than an FCS school in this last slot, it is important to note that Lambuth is coached by Ron Dickerson, Sr. Maybe this is just a bad rumor, but I doubt it.
